Fish Fry

Fish fry can be made in a jiffy. Feeling bored or lazy to cook a grand meal. Want to eat something spciy with rice and dal, fish fry is a great accompaniment. I have made the Kerala fish fry with minimal masala and easy prepare. You can take white or black Promfret, King fish or any kind of thick fleshy fish.

Ingredients:
Medium slices of Black Promfret – 4-6 pieces
1 teaspoon red chilly powder
1/3 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon lime juice
Oil for frying

Preparation:

  • Mix together all the powder with lime juice, salt and a little water to make it a paste.
  • Marinate the fish with the masala paste for around 20 minutes.
  • Take a deep pan and add around 4 to 5 tablespoon oil and shallow fry the fish pieces till done.
  • Serve alongside with onion salad, dal and piping hot steam rice.

Tip: Cover and cook the fish while frying.
